Deer Pointing on Halloween

This morning while we were walking in a back neighborhood the ladies and I saw a nice size buck.  Cha Cha went into a point and the hair on Emma’s back stood straight up.  Unfazed, the buck stopped and stared at us for awhile then ambled off, crossing the street and walking through the yard on the opposite corner.

Emma vs. the Stink Bug

The other day Emma was sniffing around and then she started acting like she didn’t feel well. She gave a few mighty hack heaves and out popped a stink bug. It was hilarious! The stink bug was in an indignant stance probably wondering what had happened. Unfortunately for that bug it went next to the toilet.

Cool Morning for the Ladies

The ladies awoke early this morning and we dashed off into the cool morning at 4:20.  Later, after they’d eaten and taken a little nap, at 7:00 we went to the dog park.  Neither was too excited to be there so we only stayed a few minutes.  The temperature hovered around 50 degrees which is pretty cool.

Saturday With the Ladies

After a blistering week it was very nice to wake up early and go for a walk in the 68 degree and un-humid morning.  The ladies slept all night but woke up at 4:30. It’s just the three of us this weekend and we walked through the neighborhood at a leisurely pace, stopping to investigate sights and sounds of the day coming to light.  We walked for about 45 minutes, returned home, and had breakfast.  Of course, they fell back to sleep immediately after finishing their chow.  Later, we went to the dog park and left just as trouble was brewing between a rottweiler and a hound.  We’re home now and they are “chasing rabbits” in their dreams.

Hot Hot Hot

The ladies spent the day at daycare today and they probably wished they stayed home in the cool of the air-conditioning.  They were really hot when I picked them up and were happy to get home.  Of course, Sophie got a special greeting, but now they seem to be calming.

Huge Storm!

A huge storm quickly thundered through this afternoon darkening the skies and pouring down buckets of rain. The temperature cooled about 20 degrees. Poor Cha Cha is so scared of thunder–probably why she flunked out of hunting school. The sky is clear now. I hope she was ok!

Light Breeze

The ladies and I went to the dog park well before dawn.  The temperature was already 82 degrees.  Fortunately there was a light breeze blowing so the visit wasn’t too uncomfortable.  We’re home now and they seem content.

Visit to the Vet

The ladies went to the vet today.  Cha Cha received a clean bill of health though she could stand to lose one or two pounds.  Emma has a little skin infection and some tummy problems but otherwise looked great.  She weighed in at a perfect 44.2 lbs.  Both were a nervous wreck but survived the ordeal nonetheless.

Emma Got Very Agitated Today

We had to pick Emma up early from her day boarding today.   She was very agitated and was pacing the floor panting and panting.  Eventually they put her in a boarding suite and she calmed.  When I got there the attendant told me that usually Cha Cha consoles and calms her, but today she did not.  We are at home and she is asleep.  I don’t know what happened but she seems fine now.

Early Start This Morning

The Ladies got an early start this morning.  Emma woke up around 3:30 but still dozed for a bit.  Cha Cha started giving kisses around 4:00.  We got up and went for a short walk.  It was all about the food!
